OUR STORY
Family farming and ranching, five gernerations and counting
Welcome to White Sands Enterprises, and thank you for letting us introduce you to our family. We are fifth-generation farmers and ranchers. Our children — the sixth generation — are raised on the same land that our Great Great Grandfather Henry Miller first homesteaded in 1874.
Our russet potato farm and Angus cattle ranch headquarters are nestled at the foot of the St. Anthony Sand Dunes and shadowed by the once-volcanic Juniper Mountains. We are blessed to enjoy beautiful views of distinct mountain, desert and sand hill landscapes from our office window, be it horseback or tractor cab.
Our parents, Lee and Cindy, raised their four children to work hard, with purpose and passion. They anchored us to agriculture by showing us what it means to grow crops and calves; to harvest what you reap; to pray for good weather but accept Mother Nature’s wrath; to accept the natural circle of life; to trust each other above all else and most importantly, to have faith.
While brothers, Zak and Rick manage day-to-day operations, sisters Lyndsey and Paige remain deeply invested in the success of the agricultural enterprise, and both are employed off the farm but within the agricultural industry. We all truly love that agriculture is our chosen way of life. We don’t hold annual family reunions, instead, we plan vacation time around summer cattle drives and fall harvest. We celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas together but only after the cows have been fed. It’s a common sight to see cousins (our children) working side by side on the farm and playing together when the work is finished.
Ultimately, as a family, we recognize that our farm and ranch has influenced our lives in such a manner that we can’t imagine raising our children under different circumstances.
The satisfaction and reward that comes as you spend a lifetime putting quality food products on grocery store shelves and family dinner tables is unmatched by any other occupation. We feed our families the products we produce and desire for you, peace of mind in knowing the food you are serving is both wholesome and has exceptional quality.
